I knew it wasn’t going to be long before the matte makeup caught up to me. In my previous post I talked about matte lips so I figured it was time to take it to the next level and to create a matte eye look. In fact, all the products that I used to create this look are matte in finish. Look at me, ditching all the sparkle and glitter!
Below, I bring to you a quick breakdown of all the products I used.
For my face I used Mac Face and Body Foundation in N2, followed by itCosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination in Light. I used Color Me device to apply both. To brighten up my eyes and cover dark circles (hello 5 hours of sleep!) I dabbed in a little bit of Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla. I contoured my cheeks using Mac Powder Blush in Taupe and to add a little bit of color to my cheeks I applied Mac Powder Blush in Royal Sunset.
Next- eyes. First, I primed my eyelids using Lorac’s Behind The Scenes eye primer. For the rest of the eye look I used five matte shades from Lorac Pro2 Palette. I started off by applying nude shadow in Buff all over my eyelid and underneath my eyebrow. Next, using peachy Nectar shade I covered the movable part of my eyelid. Using a fluffy shading brush I applied dark purple shade in Plum to the outer 1/3 of my eyelid and into the crease, carefully blending out all the edges. To make the look a little softer I blended a little bit of milk chocolate shade in It Brown above the plum color blending it into the crease. For my lower eyelid, along my lower lashline I used a taupe color in Cool Grey. I finished off the eye look by applying two coats of Maybelline The Falsies waterproof mascara to my upper and lower lashes and a little bit of Loreal Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner in Espresso to my waterlines. Finally, I filled in my eyebrows using Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Taupe.
For the lips I used Maybelline Matte Color Sensational lipstick in Ravishing Rose that I reviewed in my previous post.
Here is the complete look. I am a big fan of it. I think it’s a great way to slowly transition into fall and this look is appropriate for any occasion. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the matte finishes of all the products. For a night out, I would probably replace the pink lipstick with a plum shade for a more edgy look.
What do you think? Do you like this look? Have you tried any matte eyeshadows?
Happy First Day of Fall! Talk to you soon!
