The latest addition to Nars lipstick collection- Audacious Lipstick– comes in a variety of 40 gorgeous shades. They were released at the beginning of September and I have been dreaming of getting one since then.
The selection of shades is impressive- from beautiful naturals, gorgeous corals, through tempting pinks and sexy reds. The shade that grabbed my attention the most is Anna– which is described as a “smokey rose”. The description is rather accurate although on my lips it looks a little purple, which I actually really love.
The texture is very smooth and richly pigmented, one glide over my lips provides a full color coverage. The lipstick itself is very creamy and has a satin finish and it feels moisturizing on my lips.
It comes in a luxurious black packaging with Nars logo around the bottom part of the product and it has a magnetic cap. The wear time for me is about 2-3 hours, which might not be very impressive but I have to say, lipsticks just don’t stay on my lips long at all, no matter if it’s a Chanel or a drugstore brand.
There are two things that I don’t love about it- one is a price tag- $32, which is the most I have ever spent on a lip product. The other one is that the lipstick bleeds a little bit outside my natural lip line but I think it’s only noticeable when you look very closely. I think it could be easily fixed with applying a lip liner prior to lipstick application.
All in all, I am really impressed with Nars Audacious lipsticks and it has quickly become my favorite lip product and since the time I got it I don’t really want to wear anything else on my lips. Despite being quite pricey, I think it’s worth every penny. Now the only problem is deciding which shade I want to get next. I have my eyes on Anita and Barbara, which are both stunning nude shades.
