Wedding Hair and Makeup

Last Friday was my friends’ Sarah and John’s big day. After almost 11 years of dating they finally said “I do” and I was honored to be part of their special day and to be included in their wedding party. The ceremony and the reception were absolutely beautiful and everything turned out exactly how they wanted.

I love weddings, mostly because it’s a great feeling to see two people who love each other join their lives together but also because I love getting all glammed, getting my hair done and doing my makeup with more attention to detail than normal. As most of you know, my Sephora makeover gave me some inspiration on how to do my makeup for the wedding. The look I created wasn’t 100% the same but I was really happy with the way it turned out.

Below you can see the complete look and the list of products I used.Β wpid-imag3107-576x1024

What do you think of my look? Do you like going to weddings? Do you usually do your own hair and makeup or do you get it done by someone else?Β

Your makeup looks great! I have been in more weddings in the past 4 years than I care to remember. The last one was this past August and I sincerely hope it’s the last for a good year, at least. They can become very expensive when each bride wants her bridesmaid to get a dress over $100, plus shoes & hair (I always do my own makeup and the bride’s makeup usually), and being in 3-4 per year for the last 4 years, wow. That’s a lot of money! I do like to attend weddings, though. They are always fun occasions for me.

    • Agata Piestrak says:

Hi Jenny, I couldn’t agree more- being in a wedding can be really expensive. In this wedding though it was worth every penny because everything was perfect and the bride and the groom had a great time!

  2. Kishia says:

You looked stunning! I’ve been waiting for this post. Gotta say I wish I had somewhere to go to get glammed up with special makeup & special hair πŸ™‚ The dresses were beautiful as well. Glad you all enjoyed!

    • Agata Piestrak says:

Hi Kishia, thank you so much! I had the best time. I love going to weddings and getting ready for them and buying fancy dresses πŸ™‚ But you should get glammed up even when you don’t have a special event. Maybe for Thanksgiving or a hot date? πŸ˜‰

  3. Sunny says:

Aww weren’t you pretty! I love your makeup and the hair! I just do everything on my own, because I’m not sure the local makeup artists know what to do with my eyes (also, let’s face it, with all the money I spend on makeup, I might as well do it on my own). I need to learn a few simple updos for my hair though!

    • Agata Piestrak says:

Thank you, Sunny. I can do basic things with my hair but I cannot do updos so I knew I was going to get my hair done. As far as makeup- I couldn’t agree more. All the girls were getting their makeup done by a MUA but it was $95 a person so I decided with all the makeup I have and my skills (which I think are not bad) I can definitely do my makeup myself.

  4. Laarni says:

You are so beautiful, Agata, and the rest of the bridesmaids here! I was about to ask about your hair color until you mentioned it on the post. Is blonde your natural hair color? Love it! You look like Elsa of Frozen! Hehehe. Kudos to your hair dresser! and I love the purple theme!

The last time I went to a wedding was last year as a guest and I did my hair and makeup! To add, I’ve never been a bridesmaid in my entire life. Huhuhu

    • Agata Piestrak says:

Hi Laarni! First of all, thank you so much, I love your comment about me looking like Elsa πŸ™‚

My hair color is naturally dark blonde but I am so happy to be light blonde again, it’s definitely my color! It was actually my first time being a bridesmaid too. In Poland the tradition is different and the bride and the groom have one “witness” each, no big bridal party and I have been a witness at least 3 or 4 times but it was fun to be in the bridal party. I am pretty sure it was my last time though since now all my closest friends are married.

  5. Xuvious says:

I agree, the hairdo and colour is very Elsa-esque! You look so pretty. πŸ™‚
I’ve always been the kind of person that hates going to weddings but ever since my friends have started tying the knot, I really enjoy them and look forward to them! I guess it’s more fun with you’re more involved and it’s people you really care about. πŸ™‚

    • Agata Piestrak says:

Thank you Melissa! My hair stylist said the updo was actually easy and after she curled my hair she just pinned it and said my hair was very easy to work with πŸ˜‰

  6. Janet Bene says:

Hi Agata! I concur with what everyone said! Your eye makeup is gorgeous! That purple dress looks great and your hairdresser just did I spectacular job. I really love what she did with the back! Whoever took the photo of the Bridesmaids did a fantastic job, was it your husband? I love all those smiling faces! But there is one thing I am curious about

    • Agata Piestrak says:

Thank you so much Janet. I absolutely loved my hair. And yes, it was my husband who took that photo. What are you curious about?

  7. Janet Bene says:

No, I’m not. The part I love on the shirt is the I Can’t Keep Clam Part. It fits me perfectly!!! HA HA THANKS FOR THE PICTURE! I love the LIPPIES scattered there on the floor too!

  8. Janet Bene says:

HA HA I saw the little pink things at the top of the picture. I didn’t look that closely at first! HA HA. They look like little pink lipstick boxes on the floor there. Must have been a little tired at the time! HA HA HA
