Lazy Day Hair

Lazy Hair (3 of 43)Do you know those days when you wake up and all you want to do is chill on the couch with a cup of coffee binge watching the whole season of the highly addictive show on Netflix? You can sit in your PJs all day, not worry about makeup or your hair looking messy. Who doesn’t love such days, right?

However, there are days when you feel lazy and you still need to go out, face the world and look presentable. The hair look I am going to show you today is perfect for those days. No need for washing and styling your hair or using heat tools.

I normally wash my hair every other day and I either straighten or curl it. The day after straightening my hair all I need to do is to run my flat iron through my hair and it looks almost as good as on the first day. When I curled my hair the day before, I usually can’t wear it down the next day because my curls don’t hold that well and some come undone. I can always put my hair in a pony tail but when I do, I always feel like I am going to work out and I don’t feel glamorous.

My second day slightly undone curls

That’s where the inspiration for today’s look came from. It doesn’t require any styling, just some bobby pins. And it’s ready within 5 minutes. I simply grab a thick strand of my hair starting from the top and twist it very loosely and pin it in the back. I repeat the same process on the other side. And then in the back. Lazy Hair (14 of 43)For the hair in the back I take smaller sections of hair and twist them and pin them until all my hair is up. I finish off with a little bit of hair spray to hold everything together throughout the day. The back of the hair looks a bit messy but I think it’s still more elegant and sophisticated than a simple pony tail.  Lazy Hair (7 of 43)Lazy Hair (8 of 43)

I also love this look because right now my hair is at that annoying length in between haircuts when it’s slightly too long to look the way I want it, too short to braid it and my next hair appointment is still two weeks away. And giving your hair a break for heat tools is always good!

I hope you  like this simple hair tutorial and let me know if you try it yourself! What do you do on your lazy hair days? Do you put it in a pony tail or do you have some other tricks up your sleeve?

I love it! I need to start learning how to do these things to my hair as it’s getting so long now. I usually just ponytail it, but it’s curly and getting tangled a lot now! I’m not used to that haha! You look lovely as always my friend! xx

Thank you <3 Your comments always make my day. And you're a perfect candidate for this "do" then! Give it a try!

Very pretty! I usually opt for a pony tail, or stick it in a big clip. Years ago, I used to French braid it but now I have layers and that makes braiding difficult.

    • Agata Piestrak says:

I know what you mean about braiding. I can do a simple braid but I wish I had skill to do French braids and other ones.

I hope you try it, I think it will look very flattering on you and your hair is perfect length for that.

Honestly, I don’t often spend hours watching anything, mostly because I start feeling guilty about not doing something more important and because my attention span is not long enough. But we just discovered this new show Fresh Off The Boat and my husband had to dose it to me or I would watch the whole season in one go-it’s so funny and good!

It’s a cute show about an Asian family who’s trying to live the American Dream and who just moved from Chinatown in Washington to Orlando, FL. The father has opened a restaurant, the mom is a full on Tiger Mom and Eddie- the main character is a 11 year old boy loving hip hop music and no quite fitting the role his mom has for him. They are trying to adjust to new surroundings and new people. It’s very witty and light but heart-warming at the same time.

Hey Agata, this looks great! I need to give it a go if I can find any bobby pins in the house. I usually twist mine up in a bun when I’m lazy, but this also keeps the hair out of my face so I’m happy!

    • Agata Piestrak says:

I know what you mean, bobby pins seem to always disappear. I have a ton since the last wedding I went to and I keep them in a bathroom drawer (and all around the house after I use them).

Let me know how it goes if you try it out, I wonder if it work as well with your longer hair!

This looks great with you! Very chic and intentionally messy at the back, smooth and elegant at the front. I have very naturally curly, thick hair so bobby pins don’t work for me at all. But I do tend to do a similar look when I’m feeling lazy yet classy, just with a big honkin’ hair claw clip. =P

Down and natural in a Veronica Lake style. =) But since I live on a farm, I have to work outside a lot so I keep it up in a ponytail for every day haha.

        • Agata Piestrak says:

Nice, I wish I could wear my hair natural without styling it but I would look like a lion! Lol

How cool is that you live on a farm. Do you have any farm animals?

          • Zovesta says:

Aww! Well your hair always looks beautiful in the photos you take. <3

Yup, just a small hobby farm. We have a bunch of dogs and cats, chickens, ducks, a guinea, and a pig. Not too exciting, but a lot of fun.

          • Agata Piestrak says:

            Thank you <3

I still think it sounds like fun, I bet you get a gorgeous tan in the summer with working outside all the time!

Hi Kishia, I thought so too- it kinds of look like I put a lot of effort into creating the messy back, when in fact, it was quick and easy!

What’s going on this weekend? I saw you’re travelling to the East coast, is that right?

      • Kishia says:

Yep, and it’s been glorious. The weather has been less than pleasant (more rain than I expected) but there’s nothing like fun times with family & friends. I’m pretty far in the country so I don’t have the best internet reception so I’m behind on my beauty blog reading. But I’m relaxing and vegging out. No better way to hang out. Oh, my mom & I are going to Sephora tomorrow. I don’t think she’s ever been. Totes looking forward to it =)

        • Agata Piestrak says:

Yay for family and friends time and being away from electronics. I can hardly ever stay away from the Internet but when I do, it feels good.

Believe it or not, I haven’t shopped the Sephora sale yet either and I might not…Let me know how your trip with mommy goes and if you ladies pick up anything!

    • Agata Piestrak says:

Pony tail is easy, that’s for sure! I like trying different things with my hair and I think it will look pretty on you too!

  5. Chris says:

Every day is a lazy hair day for me. Lol.

I buy those claw hair clips that can grab my thick hair and keep it all up. That’s the easiest way for me to pin my hair up.

    • Agata Piestrak says:

Those hair clips are really handy but they make my scalp hurt a little when I wear them for a long time. You don’t have that problem?

  6. Jaa says:

This I can do! Lately I’ve just been wearing the same old pony tail because it’s so hot here and I seem to lose all my creative juice when I’m hot. LOL Will try this next time! Thanks for sharing, Agata!

    • Agata Piestrak says:

My pleasure! When I am at home, a pony tail is perfectly fine by me too. It’s when I go out I like to do something a little more fancy with my hair. Let me know how it turns out once you try it!
