Fall Prelude- A Makeup Look Feat. UD Naked 3 Palette

Anyone else is over the summer already? I know I am. Since fall is my favorite season of all, I am really awaiting the temperatures to cool down, the trees to start changing leaves so I can slip into cozy sweaters, boots and wrap a soft scarf around my neck. With the start of autumn I usually start wearing darker colors in my makeup and transition from bright coral and pink lipsticks into purples and berries.

However, since fall is not officially here yet (as much as I want it to be), I wanted to create a makeup look that would transition easily from the summer to fall. I pulled out my almost forgotten Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette and using cooler pink and purple shades created today’s look. And I have been wearing it almost every day, not only because I like the shades so much but also because I remember now why Naked 3 is my favorite Naked palette. The shades work together extremely well and they blend so easily! wpid-imag8482_1.jpg

Without further ado, let me walk you through all the steps to create this look. IMG_2269-001

1. I started by prepping my eyelids with Lorac Behind The Scenes eye primer.

2. Using Dior Mono Fusion Eyeshadow in Mirror (LE) I highlighted my under brow area and the corner of my eyes. IMG_2266

3. Using a flat shadow brush I applied the shade Buzz all over my eyelid blending it into my crease.

4. Using a shader brush I applied the dark purple shade Blackheart into the crease and into outer V of my eyelid.

5. Using a fluffy eyeshadow brush I blended matte cool pink shade Lace into my crease softening up the look and evening out the edges.

6. Next using a brownish-purple shade in Darkside I darkended the outer corners of my eyelids.

7. My favorite step that adds a perfect finishing touch to this look- using a wetted eyeliner brush I wing lined my eyes with Blackheart again. Applying this shadow wet brings out the shimmer and makes the eyelashes look longer.

8. Next I applied 2 coats of black mascara. I used Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies waterproof mascara.

9. To finish off the eye look I filled in my brows using Anastasia’s Beverly Hills Brow Whiz in Taupe and set it in with a clear eyebrow gel Control Freak from NYX Cosmetics.

Here is a close up of the finished look. wpid-imag8452_1-576x1024

Since this makeup look is a transitional one between two seasons, I kept the eyes cool but I still wanted to add some summer warmth to my face so I opted for soft contouring using Mac Powder Blush in Taupe and I used a warm peachy brown Cream Puff Blush from Max Factor in the shade 10 Nude Mauve (thank you Anne!). The glow finish on my cheekbones is brought to you by my favorite Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal.

Last, but not least, the lips. I went back to my last year’s favorite fall lipstick- Nars Audacious in Anna, which is an absolutely perfect purplish rose shade that, in my opinion, compliments the eye look perfectly. wpid-imag8451-576x1024

Below you can see what other products I used on my face. IMG_2262

1. Mac Cosmetics Prep+Prime Skin Visage.
2. Mac Cosmetics Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation in NW20.
3. Sephora Collection Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer in 02 Meringue applied under my eyes.
4. Urban Decay Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder in Naked Medium Light.
5. Mac Cosmetics Powder Blush in Taupe used for contouring.
6. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal applied on the top of my cheekbones, my temples, the bridge of my nose and my Cupid Bow.
7. Max Factor Cream Puff Blush in Nude Mauve.

I hope you enjoyed this quick fall prelude makeup look. I do find it perfect for this time of the year and I am sure I will wear it a lot in the next few weeks to come.

What look has been your favorite over the last few weeks? Do you subtly introduce some changes once the new season is coming or have you already jumped right into the fall shades? What shades do you like wearing awaiting the fall? As always, I am looking forward to hearing from you in the comments below.

Hey Agata, Glad to see your post again! ;D
I am actually anti-NAKED(?) but if I am to choose I’d definitely go for NAKED 3. It is lovely that some of the colors are well loved.
You look absolutely gorgeous and refined in this look. LOVE

    • Agata says:

Hi Lena, thanks for commenting and not forgetting about me 🙂

I love my Naked 3 palette and it’s really versatile although I haven’t used it in a while! Are you ready for fall yet?

  2. Sunny says:

Oh wow, you do love your Naked 3!!! That’s a lot of pan and dents!

I love the look you created. The eyes especially are both dramatic and subtle! I’ve been reaching for berry shades. Let’s call that my way of transitioning into autumn!

    • Agata says:

Hi Sunny! Ha ha, yes the Buzz shade is my favorite- I will be really sad once it’s all gone! I can’t wait to wear more berry shades myself! I just saw a new Buxom lipstick in a gorgeous berry shade at Sephora the other day. I didn’t get it but now I can’t stop thinking about it so I am pretty sure I will go back to get it!

  3. Jenny says:

Agata! Yayayayay, so glad you’re back. This is a beautiful look you created. I don’t own the Naked 3 palette, but man I wish I did! I can’t wait for fall to be here either. I love to dress in layers– I feel so much more comfortable in my skin when I have layers on!

    • Agata says:

Hi Jenny, I am so glad to be back, writing a new post and taking pictures was so refreshing and made me reassured that I should continue doing it!

I feel much more comfortable wearing layers too, lol. As for Naked 3, don’t you have Maybelline the Pink palette or whatever it’s called?

    • Agata says:

Thank you, Anne! When I first got this palette I wore it all the time, since the dents and then I kind of forgot about it…

The funny thing is that when I lived in Poland I hated fall and I never wanted the summer to end! Living in a big city, fall was always grey and depressing and rainy. You don’t live in a big city, do you?

And yes, you did mention it a few times 🙂 And I am so glad to be back and thank you for your continuous encouragement!

You are a beauty, Agata! This is a perfect transitional look. Naked 3 and NARS Anna are definitely 2 weapons in your makeup arsenal that look like they were made for you! I’ve been pulling out a few fall things lately, a palette with purple eyeshadows from bh cosmetics (Wild Thing), deeper lipsticks and more purple-leaning colors, and more highlighter since fall/winter is one of the only times I can pull it off with such oily skin! I too live for the cool days of sweaters and boots and soft scarves and warm beverages! <3 Fall can't come soon enough, lol! Much love!

    • Agata says:

Hi Kristen and thank you so much! Purple lipsticks are a big thing right now and I am so happy about that, even though I don’t always feel like they are very wearable!

Speaking of warm beverages, I am so looking forward to my first Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte! Are you a fan?

  5. Xuvious says:

I’m so happy to see a new post from you! Also saw it on Karen’s blog. ^_^
Anna is perfect on you, I really like the entire look. Also, omg that’s a seriously well loved palette!

  6. jenniferrosborn says:

I tend to wear the same colors year-round. I like the idea of wearing a darker lip color in the fall but I have thin lips so I feel like they make my mouth look too small.

P.s. your hair looks fabulous in this photo. Do you ever do hair tutorials?

    • Agata says:

Hi Jennifer and thank you for stopping by! I used to wear the same lip color all year round (neutral pink) and I always thought darker lipsticks would look terrible on me. But then it all changed, it’s good to experiment.

And yes, I have done a few hair tutorials, here is a video where I create the hairstyle I am wearing in these pictures 🙂 Hope it comes helpful! http://herandmakeup.com/?p=1993

      • stapeliad says:

I don’t have the Smoky one….I have enough neutrals. Especially combined with all 4 of the Vice palettes… I have Naked and Naked 3. My Naked 1 has many dents holes and a completely empty pan.

  7. kwmechelle says:

I hope this is well received but you look like Agata 2.0. Or Agata reloaded. Everything about this pic screams bad a$$. Your hair is to die for….

  8. Jaa says:

Polished and perfect as always, Agata! I miss the Fall season so much. It’s my favorite season when I was in the US. Love when the leaves are changing colors. Too bad it’s the shortest season of the year, though. After that it’s evil Winter. LOL.

Girl, you really use your Naked3 a lot huh? Look at those dents! Naked3 is still my favorite Naked palette, too, but obviously I haven’t been using it as much as you have. ;D

    • Agata says:

Oh thank you, Jaa! You always know how to put a smile on my face. I have been trying to use products that I already have more frequently recently since I have more eyeshadows that would last me till the end of my life! And I forgot how gorgeous Naked 3 is!

  9. neversaydiebeauty says:

Glad you’re back and blogging, Agata! Beautiful look, as always. I didn’t buy Naked3, but I have lots of rose golds in other palettes and I love them. I haven’t been wearing a lot of shadow lately coz it’s been so darn hot and humid and I’ve been at the beach. I’m a summer kind of girl, but alas, once the hot weather ends here in New England which will probably mean snow by next week lol, I’ll dig out my palettes and come up with something…probably my Viseart neutral matte palette with the burnt orange that’s great for fall.

    • Agata says:

Thank you, Allison. It feels really good to be back although I am still trying to get into the swing of things. But it feels good to know that I have been missed 🙂

Burnt range will look stunning on you! I have to try to come up with a look using such shade!
