Yesterday in the US we celebrated one of my favorite holidays- Independence Day. For me, any kind of holiday is not only an occasion to relax, spend time with family and friends and eat some delicious food, but it’s also a great excuse to get creative with my makeup.
Yesterday was also a perfect time to put my new Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette to use with its gorgeous reds. I used Venetian Red all over my lid, combined with a matte brown Cyprus Umber in the crease and Vermeer for highlighting. For my lower eyelid I used a dark blue shadow from Buxom called Backstage Pass. A glossy black liner and lots of mascara complete the eye look.
Of course, 4th of July calls for red lips as well! On mine I used Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella.
After my makeup was done, all I had to do was to put on my Star Spangled Banner top and I was ready for some Independence Day celebrations!
What about you? How did you celebrate 4th of July? Does your country celebrate Independence Day in any particular way? Do you like creating special themed looks for holidays?
