A Wedding Guest Glam With A Touch Of Sparkle

Last Saturday I was invited to my friend’s wedding. I love wedding ceremonies, not only because I love seeing two people commit their lives to each other but also because I get a chance to get really dolled up, wear heels and a fancy dress.

In today’s post I wanted to share with you the outfit, hairstyle and makeup that I wore to that wedding. Glam

I bought the dress about a month before the wedding but completing perfect accessorizes took me a little longer. The wedding ceremony and reception were held at a very fancy hotel so although I normally don’t wear long dresses, I thought it would be more elegant for this type of event. On the day of the wedding I was still at the mall trying to find a bracelet that would match my earrings. Anyways, since the dress was navy blue with silver sparkly waistband, I went for silver accessories. Glam

In terms of makeup, I concentrated on achieving a flawless base, with silver and navy blue eyes, black liner and lots of black mascara. Here are some of the products that I used. Glam

Face products: Glam
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick in shade Porcelain
Mac Cosmetics Mineralized Skin Finish in Medium
Mac Cosmetics Powder Blush in Taupe for contouring
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Luminous Blush in Camellia
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal (not pictured cause it’s shattered)
Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
– Lips- Mac Cosmetics Viva Glam Lipstick Miley Cirus

Eyes: Glam
Too Faced Pretty Rebel palette- shade Badass
Nars Cosmetics Hardwired Eyeshadow in Parallax
Lorac Mega Pro 3 Palette– various shades
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper
Buxom Lash Waterproof Mascara Glam

For my hair I knew I wanted something romantic and soft and my hair stylist was able to create a perfect hair-do for me. The hair pins are from Charming Charlie. Glam

The shoes and earrings are from DSW. Although I don’t wear heels very often anymore, this pair was very comfortable and I didn’t even have to change into a pair of flats that I brought with me just in case. Glam

The wedding itself was really beautiful and the bride looked absolutely stunning. (Congrats again, Amy and Edwin!)  I had a lot of fun and I really enjoyed getting all dressed up for this occasion.

When was the last time you attended a fancy event that you dolled up for? Do you enjoy going to weddings? How do you like my outfit and makeup?

the founder and editor of Her and Makeup.

Wow, Agata, you look amazing! That dress is so gorgeous!!! And the hair and makeup are super pretty, too!
About a month ago I went to my cousin’s wedding, but it was a pretty casual morning event. I wore a knee-length dress, matte neutral eyes and a fuchsia lipstick.

Hey Carolina, thank you so much <3 I love dressing up, but I don't think any of us gets too many opportunities to do so! Matte eyes and a fuchsia lipstick sound like a perfect combination!

Aww, Tracy, you are too kind! I think it’s the last fancy event I went to for a while. All my friends are married now and I don’t really get invited to any Red Carpet events, lol.

How have you been??? How are you feeling?

Beautiful look! And so fancy! I was looking for a navy blue lace cocktail dress for my step-daughter’s wedding a month ago, but couldn’t find one that suited me. Good thing ‘coz her mom wore one. It’s fun to wear a long dress and serious eye makeup like you did! Our girl got married on a farm so it was more casual.

That dress looks amazing on you! I also love the Too Faced Pretty Rebel Palette – I actually tried it on at the mall, but haven’t had the chance to buy it yet. I’m contemplating between getting the Pretty Rebel Palette or the new UD Naked Ultimate Basics Palette. Also, I’m currently having an Urban Decay Giveaway – I will be having a new giveaway every Friday with products from UD, Too Faced, Fresh, Hourglass, Buxom and more – you should come check it out! 🙂

Wow, you look so beautiful! I just went to my brother’s wedding in the beginning of October. Because I wore a very fancy dress, I kept my makeup rather neutral. I used my trusty-dusty Hourglass mineral veil, Cover Girl Clean Matte BB Cream, Urban Decay Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette, Cover Girl The Supersizer Fibers Mascara in Very Black (of course), NARS blush in the cult fave peachy-pink shade Or—-, Hourglass highlighter in Incandescent light, Benefit Hoola bronzer for contouring and MAC lipstick in High Tea. I wore my hair down but used Velcro rollers to add volume.
