Spend Your Valentine’s Day with Kylie’s Diary

Kylie Jenner. I don’t think I need to make any introduction here. I am not a huge fan of the whole Jenner clan and I tried to resist purchasing any makeup from the Kylie Cosmetics brand for as long as I could. However, when the Valentine’s Collection was released, I saw Kylie’s Diary palette and I knew any resistance was futile and I just had to buy it.

In today’s post I am going to share my initial thoughts on the palette with a full review coming soon after I get a chance to test it thoroughly.

I will start by saying that it took about 10 days for me to receive the palette, which is quite a while. I guess I am spoiled by my Ulta orders arriving in 2-3 days. Kylie’s Diary palette retails for $54.00 and I think it’s a reasonable price for what you get.

Kylie’s Diary palette consists of 9 eyeshadows- 5 of which are shimmers and 4 are mattes. It also comes with 2 blushes with the cutest heart design.

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, it looks like a diary book with Kylie’s Diary writing in red glitter on the front.  Inside there is a big mirror. The eyeshadows pans are pretty big and you also get a generous amount of each blush. Inside the box that the palette was shipped in there was a cute personalized postcard from Kylie with a 3D eyes that wink at you, which is really cool!

From just swatching the palette, the eyeshadows are fairly well pigmented. The matte shades are a bit powdery though. I absolutely love the selection of shades, I think they all scream romance and Valentine’s Day and they will create a beautiful girly look.

The blushes on the other hand seem to lack pigmentation (which you can tell from the swatches), they seem very dry and it looks like it will take a bit of work to build the color up to even show up on the cheeks.

All in all, I love the packaging of the palette and attention to detail. I think the shade selection is perfect and I am happy with the pigmentation of the eyeshadows. From just swatching the blushes, they left me unimpressed. I am looking forward to putting the palette to test and I will definitely get back to you with more details.

In the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day. Even if you think it’s a cheesy Hallmark holiday, don’t forget to show love to the people you care about! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Have you ever purchased any Kylie Cosmetics products? How did you like them? Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? If you have any plans, what makeup are you going to wear? Hugs and XOXO,
Agata,

Hi Agata! This is a very cute palette! Love the girly design and colours and as always, your swatches are amazing! Haven’t tried any Kylie products (need to see whether we have them in the UK), but this looks tempting! Have a great valentine’s!

Thank you. Did you celebrate V Day in any way?

I am not sure if the brand is available in the UK but they do ship internationally though and offer free int shipping for orders over $60.

We did, yes. But because I flew back home on the 13th, we had our Valentine’s celebrations the weekend before. Nice meal out, movie, bit of surprise chocolates and flowers too :). What did you do on the day? Yeah, thought might not be available, hence haven’t seen them around. Very pretty still, so might try them since they ship internationally at some point.

It looks really cute, and it’s very possible that the blushes will look better on the cheeks than they swatched on your arm. I’ve had that happen with blushes before, where they don’t swatch well at all, but they’re easy to build on the cheeks with a brush, and this type of blush generally gives a very natural, soft finish.
I personally don’t want to support the K clan, but I have to admit that the Kylie brand is really developing some cute products in their range these days.

I agree with you, I really tried to stay away from the K clan but this palette just put me over the edge. I used the palette the last 2 days and you were right- the blushes apply easily to the cheeks and are in fact hella pigmented!

I had a date with three fire fighters, but it was strictly work based, one of them was a woman and we were talking sickness and catastrophy, so I guess that doesn’t count for VD?
The colors and the design are absolutely not for me. I don’t like pinks, I don’t like girly design and I don’t like palettes. I think i am the VD Grinch.
But hey, the day after Valentins Day: I love you and your blog, Agata!

I didn’t think you’d be a big fan of this palette. However, I think those more subtle shimmery lilac shades would look lovely on you!

My bf made me delicious dinner at home and spoiled me with a ton of makeup, I think he is insane!

I love you too Anne!! <3

I’m kind of wishing I picked this up too. I really like the shades. And the blushes are cute too even if they’re not super pigmented. I’m thinking they’ll make for a nice more natural look. I can’t wait to see what you do with it!

Also, I think it’s funny how we both tried so hard to resist. I thought I was the only one haha!
